Our drilling activity started in 1907 while searching for potassium salts in Transylvania. In 1909 natural gas was discovered with the 2 Sarmasel well at a depth of 302 m. This fact allowed public illumination with gas lamps in Bucharest, for the first time in Europe, in 1918.
The well spud in 1934 in Copsa Mica (Transylvania) marked the beginning of an intense drilling activity.
The main activity at the time developed intensively. The company achieved wells for foreign operators in mena and became a well-known drilling company across the region.
